Dumplings & Baos is a cozy Chinese gem hidden on Clapham Park Road, London. With rave reviews from patrons, it's clear this establishment is a delightful discovery. Customers universally praise the dumplings, particularly the fresh lobster variety which has been described as "absolutely delicious" by Téo Berkeley. The gluten-free options make this place a blessing for those with dietary restrictions, as highlighted by loyal customer Danielle Mazzolini, who savored authentic flavors reminiscent of her time in China.
Equally, the baos have garnered fans, offering a comforting contrast to the dumplings, as noted by several guests. One standout has been the duck bao buns, often recommended as a ‘must-try’ alongside the crispy snow fish. The ambiance is endearingly simple and homey, reminiscent of cherished family gatherings, where the attentive staff ensure a warm experience. Though it may not exude a posh vibe, the value is remarkable, especially with its BYOB policy.
Overall, Dumplings & Baos transcends mere dining; it’s a heartfelt culinary journey, inviting patrons to return time and again to explore its diverse menu—a true testament to its charm and quality.

I dont know what I liked more. The Dumpings, or the Baos, actually that's a lie, I prefer dumplings because I'm allergic to gluten, and the dumplings don't have gluten. That being said, my friend preferred the Baos.

We truly enjoyed all the dumplings and noodles we ordered. I especially loved the red lobster dumpling — it was absolutely delicious! Everything was so fresh and full of flavour. Also, the staff were very friendly and welcoming. Thank you!

I absolutely loved this hidden gem, discovered thanks to @eatingwithtod on Instagram. Tucked away on a slightly dodgy side street, you’d likely stroll right by without a second glance. For me, it was unequivocally a five-star experience from start to finish, though I’d suggest not turning up with the expectation of a posh restaurant - it’s very basic but beautifully decorated. The ambiance is straightforward, with a locked door to ensure a personal welcome upon arrival. It’s snug and feels a bit packed, but the food is nothing short of fantastic and tastes incredibly fresh. There are a number of 'must-try' dishes, especially the duck bao buns, the fresh lobster dim sum dumplings, the sweet and sour chicken, but the real showstopper was the crispy snow fish. The staff are really friendly and attentive, and the prices will knock your socks off especially as it’s BYOB! We’re definitely coming back soon to delve into the rest of the menu!

YOU WIN SUM YOU DIM SUM. Awh this place was so cute felt like you’re eating at your nanny and grandads house that hold years of memories, ups and downs, noodles and buns. I loved it and I WILL BE BACK!! Food was served quickly and staff are so friendly and full of smiles and rainbows . Please support this business I would be so low if this place closed due to unfortunate circumstances. Dumping and boas - you are the BOASS (boss) big up. Love love love xx

Being gluten and dairy free I didn't have a chance to eat Chinese food in London until I found this hidden gem. I have lived in china a few years and the flavours that this restaurant offers are exactly like the authentic ones. The service is super fast and cordial, the knowledge of allergens is great. I've decided to go back once a month! I recommend booking a table in advance

Ignore the review below from Chris Kuhar. He came in aggressively, swore at the staff when they explained they were fully booked and couldn’t seat him, then left only to return and repeat the same abusive behaviour. Arrogantly saying that he will give the place a 1 star. The only thing accurate about his review was that there were two people seated, me and my partner. (When we arrived the manager politely told us we had the table for an hour and we got there 30 minutes prior to this incident). It was honestly shocking to witness, but the team handled it with absolute professionalism and grace, all while keeping a smile on their faces. The staff were genuinely lovely, attentive, and welcoming. The food was fantastic, and we’ll definitely be coming back.

Bloody delicious dumplings and bao, the staff are very friendly and helpful too. Everything we ordered was tasty and flavourful and nothing disappointed. We went for a late afternoon lunch and it was quiet, I highly recommend this place. An absolute gem.

This place is exceptional. Not only are the dumplings gluten free, but they are delicious, mouth watering, and in a variety of perfect food combos as well. In two people we ordered 5 different varieties, and we would have ordered the whole menu if we weren't stuffed. The atmosphere is unpretentious and has a great home feel to it, with the staff being really helpful, knowledgeable about gluten free, and welcoming. I'm looking forward to trying more, or ordering my favorite dumplings (scallops and prawns) all over again.
